Summary of the contract
The New Fleming Park Leisure Centre.
The Works will comprise the Design and Construction of a New
Leisure Centre for Eastleigh to replace the existing Fleming Park Leisure
Centre which is at the end of its economic life and will need to be
demolished with due regard to possible hazardous materials, with the site
made good. The existing centre shall remain in use and fully operational
until the new centre is complete and operational. The new centre shall
aspire to BREEAM EXCELLENT and shall include a 25 m x 8-lane Indoor
Swimming Pool, 20 x 10 m Learner Pool with movable floor, 150 Spectator
seats, 15 Badminton court size Sports Hall, 150 station fitness suite, 3nr
Multi Purpose Studios, Cafe and kitchen, Childrens play area, Creche, 4 nr
Squash Courts with viewing, Club Room, Main Reception and Administration
Offices, and all associated Changing, Toilet, Plant and Circulation areas.
Externally there will be a full size 3G ATP, 3 x 5-a-side football
pitches, 4 tennis courts, Parking and all associated external works and
services. Consideration is also being given to a health Spa, / Treatment
rooms, Sports Development Facilities and Climbing Wall.

III.1) Conditions relating to the contract
III.1.1) Deposits and guarantees required:
A Performance guarantee bond to a minimum value of 10 % of the contract
value and a Parent Company Guarantee (if applicable) shall be required.
Applicants should confirm their ability to provide such surety if called
upon.

During the Construction stage payments will be made monthly based on the
value of works executed. The Form of Contract is likely to be the JCt
Design and Build Contract 2011 with certain amendments.

whom the contract is to be awarded:
in the event of a group of contractors submitting an acceptable offer it
will be necessary for each member of the group to sign an undertaking that
each company in the group will be jointly and severally responsible and
liable for the due performance of the contract.
