This Contract is for the construction of a new Post Primary School at
Steeple Road, Antrim. The new school will be a 2 storey school complex
with a gross internal floor area of circa 11 700 m² within single site
including the provision of replacement playing fields (2 football and 1
rugby pitch) on the site of the existing Parkhall Junior School building,
a new synthetic pitch, and 5 new tennis courts. The new facility will

Subject to the status and involvement of the parties the Contracting
Authority may require parties to commit to joint and several liabilities
in respect of the contract. Alternatively the Contracting Authority may
expect the lead operator/lead contractor to take total responsibility. The
Contracting Authority may require collateral warranties, parent company
guarantees and or performance/insolvency bonds as applicable. .Economic
Operators/Lead Contractor may opt to form a consortium with another
contractor in order to meet the minimum turnover referenced in
Pre-Qualification Documents. If the contract is to be awarded to a
consortium it must form a legal entity so that each company is jointly and
severally liable for the performance of any subsequent contract.

shall each be respectively required to adhere to core specified
contractual obligations which serve the Department of Educations related
public policy and statutory obligations in these regards (including, inter
alia, s.75(1) of the Nl Act 1998). Therefore, specific contract clauses
shall relate to sustainable economic, social, environmental and equality
requirements, and may be used as award criteria. Demonstrable commitment
to these core componential contractual requirements will be part of the
Invitation to Tender stage and awarding of this contract.

The cost of responding to the Pre Qualification Questionnaire and any
subsequent invitation to tender will be borne by each Economic
Operator/Lead Contractor. Until the contract is executed all discussions
and correspondence will be deemed strictly subject to contract. No formal
agreement shall be binding until it is duly executed by representatives of
both parties. This procurement is dependent on the availability of funding
for the project, which is still to be confirmed in full. Under this
contract the successful Economic Operator/Lead Contractor/Applicant will
be required to support wider economic, social and environmental
objectives. Accordingly, contract conditions will relate in particular to
social economic and environmental considerations. These will be further
detailed at tender stage.
