The Academy for Excellence in Flooring is encouraging fitters and retailers to make the most of 2015 by committing to improve skills and knowledge.
With the well-established Master Installer scheme shaping the future of the industry through manufacturer-backed warranties on workmanship, the Academy is considered the benchmark in training for the flooring industry. Late in 2014, the Manchester facility introduced a well-received bespoke training package, so that both retailers and fitters can tailor courses to exact requirements. Whether improving product knowledge on the Quick-Step or Pergo ranges to boost sales, or fine-tuning specialist skills such as stair installations, the Academy can provide content that will make a true difference.
“Whether through our foundation courses, the Master Installer concept, or a bespoke programme, making the effort to undergo training now will give benefits long into the future,” says Lee Thompson, procurement and technical manager. “Proof lies in Master Installers that have reported an upturn in work and retailers that have claimed the extra product knowledge has helped sales and customer interaction.”
Thanks to state-of-the-art training facilities, including bays featuring complex elements such as stairs and sanitary ware along with a fully equipped classroom environment, since it opened in 2012 the Academy has become regarded as one of the UK’s foremost flooring training facilities. Offering the Quick-Step Master Installer and Pergo Master Pro programmes for residential and commercial fitters respectively, the Academy is one of the few centres in the UK to provide manufacturer-backed warranties on workmanship.
Bespoke courses can be provided on request with content tailored to meet specific learning and development needs. Full details of the Master Installer and Master Pro programmes along with other courses can be found by visiting the Academy’s website.
