This summer, one of the world’s largest producers of PU underlay, Carpenter, will launch ProStep.
Designed to be the ultimate in heavy rated contract underlay, ProStep has been developed to compete with even the best crumb rubber products.
Said Helen Rowberry, national sales manager: “We wanted to create a superior contract product that is a competitively priced, environmentally friendly alternative to crumb rubber and ProStep is the heaviest PU available in the market today.”
Suitable for contract use ProStep is an 8mm, 180kg/m3 density underlay, which is suitable for double stick applications.
Continued Helen: “We’re calling it the ultimate professional’s choice because it is. It has been designed with exact requirements for the commercial sector and fitters in mind.
“Like all PU underlay, ProStep is relatively lightweight, making it much easier than rubber to carry – a growing appeal with many fitters. It also offers excellent heat insulation and is highly resilient and flame retardant.
“It is strong enough to weather the most demanding conditions, whether that’s an office building or a retail outlet with a high volume of traffic – ProStep is the product to cater to all requirements, ensuring a professional finish that will last the test of time.”
As with all Carpenter products, ProStep is made from recycled material. The company’s growing commitment to the environment saw the launch of a UK first underlay recycling scheme last year which currently operates in 22 regions, including Scotland.
