Osmo celebrates a quarter of a century

Osmo UK, the eco-friendly wood and finishes expert is celebrating 25 years in business, providing architects, interior designers, flooring contractors and DIY enthusiasts with a range of innovative and sustainable products.

“We are delighted to reach this milestone” comments Steve Grimwood, Managing Director of Osmo UK. “The company started very small and has since, grown into a successful business. It is thanks to the dedication of the team, and the reputation that we have built for providing high quality wood finishes and wooden flooring.  We are proud of our history and look forward to another successful 25 years.”

Steve founded Osmo UK in 1990 when he spotted the potential of Osmo’s renowned natural wood finishes and started stocking small quantities in his garage. The potential for Osmo products quickly became clear and in 1997 Osmo UK began trading from a small warehouse on a business park in Aylesbury. Eight years later, the company moved to Anglo Business Park, where the warehouse space trebled in size and the small team grew in numbers.

Now, in 2015, Osmo UK provides great customer service and support, despatches hundreds of orders within a week, and provides a comprehensive training programme to customers on a regular basis.  Its Polyx-Oil wood finishes range is known and respected by many, and is continuously used on flooring, wooden furniture, joinery and doors

In line with its forward-thinking vision, Osmo UK has grown remarkably well and achieved various targets over the past two and a half decades. The Osmo product range has continued to grow to meet the on-going demands of its customers. The product range now boasts highest quality finishes for interior and exterior wood products, wood flooring, cleaning products and tools.

All of Osmo’s products are based on rapidly renewable, natural vegetable oils, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to wood finishing that penetrates deeply into the wood keeping it elastic and healthy. This prevents it from drying and becoming brittle. The wood is allowed to breathe which means it is naturally protected and moisture can evaporate whilst the surface is very water resistant.
