Isafe Apex is a cut above the rest – safety flooring

The brand new safety flooring range from Itec Contract Floors, Isafe Apex, has made its UK debut at The Gallery, a top end hair and beauty salon and spa located in Gerrards Cross. Achieving complete compliance with CDM and HSE requirements for slip resistance in public areas that can be subject to spillages, the new flooring also delivers a striking look that is in keeping with both the client’s and designer’s aesthetic requirements.

Chosen in 797 Vintage Dark Grey, the wood-effect resilient safety flooring provides the exact tonal appearance needed to fully compliment the interior ambience created by the salon’s existing lighting, wall finishes and furniture. As Elisabeth Barrett, of Barr None interior designers explains, “Our overall brief from the client was very clear, and as a result, the floor finish had to reflect the complex neutrals used within the salon’s colour scheme. Initially, our available finishes for the floor included marble, engineered hardwood, laminate and luxury vinyl tiles, all of which could have provided the design empathy that we desired, but crucially only Isafe Apex could meet this design need as well as provide exceptional performance benefits.”

Jackie Stevrens, of The Gallery, continues; “We operate in a location where demographics dictate that everything must be just right for our client base, and that includes the interior design scheme. Since we have had the new Isafe Apex flooring installed, clients have frequently commented on how attractive the salon looks, and our stylists are loving the improved underfoot comfort – absolutely vital for professionals who are on their feet all day. It was essential that once installed, the floor would always perform in the way needed, and not become a maintenance chore for our staff. Thanks to our consultation with Itec Contract Floors, we have the correctly tailored level of slip resistance that is always retained with minimal fuss.”

Fitted by Access Flooring, joints within the floor surface were sealed with the revolutionary Invisiweld system, which provides a virtually seam-free finish, in order to retain the original timbered design intent. The installation was completed without any disruption and with no need for salon closure by fitting isafe Apex onto a mechanical fix TacFast® subfloor system.
