BOEN oiled floors with new NaturalPlus

Hardwood flooring specialist BOEN have just completed building one of Europe’s most modern production and finishing lines at its site in Mölln, Germany. With this new facility, oiled floor installation has never been easier with no need for a final application of oil on site.

NaturalPlus has been specially developed in conjunction with the natural oil we use in protecting the floors surface. The oil is of the finest quality and made of purely plant-based components. BOEN NaturalPlus is available to the market with effect from 1 January 2013 and will be presented to the trade at BAU in Munich (Hall B6, booth 133).

Natural refined plant oils Natural beauty with every board proves that the investment is worthwhile. BOEN is setting the standard. NaturalPlus is purely plant-based and was developed in cooperation with leading European suppliers of natural oils. It contains a blend of sunflower, safflower and soya oil, together with natural waxes, such as carnauba and candelilla. Thanks to this formula, surfaces finished with NaturalPlus do not produce any harmful emissions. The oil has been tested, certified, and general building code approval granted by Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt).

Even more protection The surface provides even greater resistance to water, dirt, and abrasion. Compared with other products on the market, BOEN has also significantly improved the UV stability and resistance to liquids such as coffee, tea, red wine, etc. The new application procedure means that even boards with a deeply ingrained texture can be manufactured without the need for additional post installation finishing. With two applications of oil, a specially designed arrangement of brushes ensures that it is massaged deeply and saturates the pores of the wood. The subsequent drying process is purely natural, simply fresh air. This Air-Plus process makes the finished products look even more natural than ever before. The ability to combine the new line with other equipment also enhances design possibilities, thus expanding the range of natural oil-treated surface variants. Irrespective of whether the floors are brushed or textured, BOEN can offer a diverse choice of options by applying different colour pigments and using different oils from the NaturalPlus range.

Easy care The new application procedure greatly improves the quality of the surface, making the floor easier to clean. In terms of appearance, NaturalPlus has a striking, uniformly stable sheen that far surpasses the quality of conventionally manufactured flooring. In combination with its launch, BOEN has also developed a special range of cleaning and conditioning products to preserve the value of the floor for many years to come.

Greater choice of products Given the unabated popularity of oak hardwood floors, BOEN has expanded the range of colours available in its “Stonewashed Collection”. Following the recent launch of surface decors such as “Coral”, “Pearl” and “Sand”, the programme now includes “Amber”, “Barrel” and “Graphite”. Solid oak planks are now also available in three further colours: “Tobacco”, “Highland” and “Yellowstone” ensure additional diversity of choice. BOEN offers its solid wood planks in lengths ranging from 800 to 2220 mm and in three widths (137, 162, 187 mm). All of the products feature a four-sided micro-bevel (4V). The two-layer portfolio has also been extended to include the “Noble” plank. With its installation height of just 10 mm, this genuine country house-style plank measuring 138 mm x 2200 mm is just as ideal for renovation projects. Noble has an HDF-reinforced base and offers superb dimensional stability. The plank features a standard two-sided bevel (2V).
