Arla Foods UK Appoints John Lord

The much anticipated £150 million Arla ‘mega dairy’ in Aylesbury is going to benefit from exclusive John Lord Specialist Resin Flooring.

The 70-acre site, scheduled for completion by the end of 2013, will be the world’s largest zero carbon dairy and will process and package up to 1.3bn litres of fresh milk per year.

After several rounds of tough negotiation, John Lord has secured the contract to formulate and install approximately 35,000 square metres of its Uragard polyurethane resin flooring. Different Uragard resin formulations have been specified to suit the various conditions found in most of the production areas around the site. In addition, John Lord group company Canal Engineering will be manufacturing and installing ASPEN wall base kerbing and several high level gantries around the site.

Stephen Lord, Chairman of the John Lord Group commented; “With a total contract value that is expected to be significantly over £3 million, this is probably the largest industrial flooring contract to be awarded this year. I am proud of the team effort that has gone in to securing this contract and am confident that our ‘Total Responsibility Package’ will prove to be the right decision for Arla Foods UK.”
