Fein helps next generation of floor layers

FEIN has partnered with FloorSkills training centre, one of the leading fully funded Flooring Apprenticeship and NVQ providers in the country, to supply high quality power tools that are now helping apprentices and current flooring professionals achieve new qualifications.

Donating multiple new MultiMasters to the training centre, FEIN has enabled the flooring apprentices to begin their training with the best tools for the job. FEIN’s new Multimaster 350 Q is particularly useful to the flooring trade, able to cut architrave and sand corners of wooden flooring with ease thanks to its powerful 350 W motor and increased amplitude of 2 x 1.7 degrees.

Importantly, the apprentices will benefit from improved safety whilst training as FEIN’s new MultiMaster produces 70 per cent less vibration than its predecessor. This means that it achieves vibration class zero in virtually all applications and for the first time, an oscillating power tool can be used continuously for eight hours without the need to rest because of health and safety concerns. What’s more, the new MultiMaster is also 50 per cent quieter, helping the apprentices listen to clear instructions and protecting their hearing.

Daniel Fairhust, Training Manager at FloorSkills, commented: “We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality training and having quality tools to work with is paramount in achieving our goals. We want our apprentices to experience the best not because it’s nice to have but because it genuinely improves their learning. Having a MultiMaster is such an important piece of kit for a floor fitter and it’s important for our apprentices to familiarise themselves with one before they go on the job.”

Daniel continued, “We’ve had great feedback from our apprentices, who all love using the new tools. The MultiMasters have been so easy to work and teach with and are a welcome addition to the workshops.”

In addition to supplying FloorSkills with the tools, FEIN also provided its “Top” sets, which include an extensive range of high quality accessories for dust-free sanding and long-life sawing.

Andy Mills, National Sales Manager at FEIN, commented: “We’re happy to support FloorSkills in training up the next generation of floor layers. We know that the best way to do a good job is by using the right tool and we hope that by supplying our new MultiMasters to FloorSkills we can help more apprentices get it right and take a step closer to a successful career in the flooring trade.”
