The damp proof bucket – Sika

Sika has added a 20kg bucket size for its popular Damp-proofing Slurry – a high quality, thin layer waterproof slurry coating that can be applied quickly and easily.

Especially useful for the busy builder, Sika’s Damp-proofing Slurry comes ready to use and can simply be brushed on, providing a water and damp proof finish that is suitable for use on masonry, concrete, stone, block, bricks and tile surfaces.

Perfect for those bigger jobs, the product is now available in a 20kg bucket size, alongside the existing 12.5kg bucket, and 25kg sack, which are available in grey.

Application couldn’t be simpler – for maximum results however, it is crucial to ensure that the area is dampened with clean water, prior to use. To help fill joints in brick and block work, a semi-stiff paste of the damp-proofing slurry should then be used. Following this, the damp-proofing slurry should be mixed with water until an even consistency is achieved. This mixture should then be applied with a stiff bristle brush in at least two separate coats – three where severe conditions exist. The brushing direction should be changed with every coat applied and it can be reapplied after just four hours.
