Training flexibility with the WoolSafe Academy

Professional cleaners and carpet care specialists who want to further their knowledge without sacrificing precious time are encouraged to enroll with the brand new online training centre from the WoolSafe Organisation. Launched in October, the cutting-edge WoolSafe Academy provides comprehensive training courses that offer the ultimate in flexibility.

As Steve Bakker, marketing manager of the WoolSafe Organisation explains, “At WoolSafe we recognise that professional cleaners are incredibly busy, with limited time to spend on full-day training courses. This is where the Academy steps in. The online courses have been specifically developed to allow trainees to dip in and out of modules to fit around their working day, splitting them down into more manageable blocks of learning that can be completed on the move, in the office or in the comfort of home.”

The first courses available online from the WoolSafe Academy include the Fibre Care Specialist programme and the Carpet Complaint Investigation course. The Fibre Care Specialist course consists of a variety of modules designed to give trainees the skills and confidence to effectively and safely clean wool carpets or rugs. With sections dedicated to the science behind carpet cleaning and preventative measures, this is ideal for those who want to enhance their existing knowledge. The Carpet Complaint Investigation course focuses on identifying the causes of both common and unusual carpet complaints, and those who choose to complete this course could even be eligible to become WoolSafe Registered Carpet Inspectors.

“Having our courses online means that we can condense them into smaller chunks that can be accessed separately, without compromising on the quality of information,” continues Steve Bakker. “Each bite-size module is assessed by a specialist quiz that is marked immediately for instant feedback. The WoolSafe Academy allows carpet cleaners to manage their professional development and see with their own eyes just how much they are progressing.”

All courses are tested by a final exam that covers questions from each module, and successful students will receive a certificate of achievement from WoolSafe. If they meet the qualifying criteria, they will also be invited to join the WoolSafe Approved Service Provider or Registered Inspector Networks, opening up exciting new opportunities.

Other services available from the WoolSafe Academy include downloadable research papers and publications to aid professional development, an online store containing books, carpet inspector kits and technical equipment to purchase and information about upcoming classroom-based courses.
