Rustic Kährs designs chosen for Isle of Man pub chain

Kährs wood flooring designs have been installed throughout six Heron & Brearley pub/restaurants on the Isle of Man. The installations – at The Highwayman, The Queens Hotel, The Heron, The Archibald Knox, The Rosemount and The Raven – were carried out by flooring contractor, AC Swales. Two wood designs – Kährs Oak Aosta and Kährs Oak Dun – were specified through the interiors.

With its roots dating back to 1850, Heron & Brearley is the Isle of Man’s most prominent hospitality group. It operates businesses on-Island and in the UK, and employs more than 1,000 staff. The Kährs installations were carried out as part of extensive refurbishment projects at each of the six sites.

Kährs rich-toned Oak Aosta and Oak Dun were chosen to complement the rustic character of the venues and their warm, welcoming interiors, in addition to providing a hard-wearing surface finish.   Both wood floors have a one-strip design and durable oiled prefinish, as well as a brushed surface treatment and bevelled edge. All flooring was installed floating over Kährs Tuplex underlay – a high performance system with combined acoustic and moisture benefits. Kährs’ glueless 5S Woodloc® joint promoted a fast installation, locking the boards together and eliminating any risk of gapping throughout the lifetime of the floor.
