POOL MATTING PROMOTES SAFETY

As part of an ongoing refurbishment programme, Heronrib matting has been replaced in the changing rooms and showers at Wickford Pool in Essex. The pool is owned by Basildon Borough Council and operated by Sports and Leisure Management Ltd.

Manufactured in the UK by Plastic Extruders Ltd, the matting has been chosen to complement the new interior colour scheme and replaces some original Heronrib matting supplied over 15 years ago. The old matting, which is still perfectly functional after this length of use, is being moved to the Plant room and other back areas.

Heronrib matting is a popular choice for barefoot and wetside applications. Its embossed surface is slip resistant, warm and comfortable to stand on and minimises the risks associated with walking on ceramic and other floors which can be very slippery when wet.

Another important benefit is that the matting is impregnated with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal additives which reduce the risk of cross-contamination, making it both safe and hygienic for bare feet.

Heronrib is manufactured from hardwearing non-porous vinyl with an open grid construction and channelled underbars which help water to drain away easily in all directions. The matting is available in several colours. It is supplied in 10m long rolls, easily cut on site, and in widths of 50cm, 1m and 1.22m.

Samples, information and Performance Certificates are available from Plastic Extruders Ltd (tel 01268 571116) or visit www.heronrib.com.
