One Vision Housing’s £99.8m development plans for the North West

One Vision Housing (OVH), part of the Sovini Group, is excited to reveal its extensive £99.8m development plans to create over 900 affordable homes in the next five years.

OVH has already commissioned building developments across the North West; including Sefton, Liverpool, Wirral, Cheshire and West Lancashire. They will provide quality homes for affordable rent, as well as opportunities to own a home through OVH’s shared ownership scheme. 

Louise Davies, Development Manager for One Vision Housing, said: “This is an extremely exciting time for One Vision Housing, as we’re busy creating much-needed quality homes for local people. We expect that these developments will have a significant impact on the local housing shortage, and the regeneration of the North West.”

Thanks to additional funding and the organisation’s sust ainable growth, OVH plans to build 927 new homes by 2021, with the first 488 of the homes from committed projects expected to be complete within the next two years (2018); these are part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Between 2006 (when OVH was set up) and 2015, OVH’s priority was to improve the standard of the 11k+ homes acquired from Sefton Council, and so all development work concentrated on investment and refurbishment work. Having succeeded ‘Decent Homes Standard’ for 100% of its homes, OVH is now progressing with its ambitious Development Strategy, which will be reviewed annually in line with demand for units across the region.

The first few developments for the Merseyside area include:

Last month OVH completed its building development on Lime Grove in Seaforth, a development of 14 new homes, comprising one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses, all available for affordable rent and allocated through the local choice-cased lettings scheme, Property Pool Plus.

Next month OVH will complete a development of 42 new homes, in Aintree, just a stone’s throw from famous Aintree Racecourse. There will be 28 affordable rent properties comprising of two bedroom apartments; two, three and four bedroom homes and a two bedroom bungalow; which will be allocated through Property Pool Plus. There will also be 14 shared ownership properties available for sale, including two, three and four bedroom homes.
