Maximum horizontal cutting

The Bosch GCM 8 SJL Professional sliding mitre saw

Compact tool for jobsite us

– High cutting capacity of 312 x 70 millimetres„

– Powerful 1600 watt motor for quick and clean sawing

– Low weight and handy carrying handle for easy transport

– Two point dust extraction for low levels of dust during work

With the GCM 8 SJL Professional sliding mitre saw, Bosch makes it easier to cut wide work pieces such as large pieces of laminate, parquet, decking and floor boards, and also furniture components or cable ducts. This is made possible by the high horizontal cutting capacity of 312 millimetres, which is so far unique on benchtop tools in this class. Larger cutting widths are becoming increasingly important for professional tradespeople as Product manager Christof Weitbrecht explains, “Many floor coverings nowadays are following the same trend as tiles, with smaller tiles increasingly being replaced by larger tiles. Floor boards up to 310 millimetres wide are customary nowadays.” The GCM 8 SJL Professional enables professional tradespeople to easily saw panels of this size. Further advantages include a low weight of 17 kilograms, compact design and handy carrying handle.

Powerful tool with improved dust extraction

The GCM 8 SJL Professional offers 15 percent more cutting width and 100 watts more power than its predecessor model, the GCM 8 SJ Professional. Its 1600 watt motor drives the saw blade at 5,500 revolutions per minute to ensure clean, fast working. Other functions include soft start electronics for a long motor lifetime and smooth start-up and the projection of a laser line to make it easier for users to make precise sizing cuts. A new feature is the two-point dust extraction – a dust extraction outlet is positioned on the tool body behind the saw blade and a second dust extraction outlet is fitted on the saw arm itself which moves forwards with the arm with each sliding movement. This ensures that sawdust and chips, which are ejected backwards by the rotation of the saw blade, are effectively extracted in all applications.

Easier angle setting

The bevel angles are especially quick and easy to adjust on the GCM 8 SJL Professional: you simply throw the new rocker lever and fix it again at the desired value on the scale. Bevels of 47 degrees to the left to 2 degrees to the right are possible. The mitre angles are also freely adjustable and lockable. The work table engages automatically at the standard mitre angles. The tool’s features are completed by two pull-out side extensions for safe sawing of longer work pieces.

The GCM 8 SJL Professional sliding mitre saw (240V) will be available at Bosch stockists from July 2013
