Kährs brings rustic vintage feel to urban office complex
Kährs Oak Maggiore wood floor has been specified, by Mittelman Associates, for a South London office complex, in which its own practice is based. Part of Kährs Da Dapo Collection, the new one-strip floor has a distinct authentically-aged finish, chosen to bring a warm, rustic feel to the spacious interior. The ground floor installation totalled 130m², incorporating a cafe and break-out/meeting zone; all flooring was installed by Evergreen Building Ltd, for Workspace.
With features including cracks, knots, gnarls and pegs, Kährs Da Capo Collection combines an antiqued look with the performance and easy care benefits of a modern construction. The range includes six designs, crafted from sustainable oak; each floor is brushed, handscraped, bevelled and smoked to achieve a distinct vintage look, whilst different tones of Kährs nature oil prefinish give a spectrum of shades – from limewashed Oak Indossati to knotty, nut toned Oak Sparuto. All designs feature Kährs award winning multi layered construction, which incorporates a glueless Woodloc® joint for a fast, precise installation.
Like all floors within the range, Kährs Oak Maggiore is suitable for installation on most dry, level surfaces including concrete, wood and particle board. It is also an ideal partner to underfloor heating and can be completely refurbished 3-4 times, if required.
