Coba Plan.a installed at City of Glasgow College’s new Riverside Campus
COBA Flooring’s Plan.a aluminium entrance matting has been installed in the main eight storey building at City of Glasgow College’s stunning new Riverside Campus, home to some 2000 marine and engineering students, and 250 staff. The ultra-modern building features an attractive atrium and Plan.a has been installed in its main reception, and in one of the side entrances.
Riverside’s Atrium Reception is a busy area given the volume of students, staff and other visitors passing through the doors on a daily basis. Both the main and side entrance areas feature circular revolving door systems, and the matting was custom-made by COBA Flooring specifically for these locations.
Plan.a is a high quality aluminium entrance matting system that is custom-manufactured by COBA Flooring in the UK. Extremely robust, it is ideal for areas subjected to high levels of footfall. The system is a popular choice for many different commercial environments, from hotels and offices, to education and retail.
The College chose to have its ‘City of Glasgow’ logo incorporated into the design, taking advantage of COBA Flooring’s ability to integrate an inlaid custom printed Logomat. The logo is an eye-catching addition for visitors as they enter the building, and the matting is proving a practical asset too, helping to trap moisture and dirt on entry to the Atrium area.
With Plan.a, there is a choice of three insert materials: either nylon carpet in charcoal, blue, grey and brown; needlepunch carpet in grey or charcoal, or PVC scraper inserts. It is available in either low or standard profile height with the option of a ‘closed’ or ‘open’ surface finish depending on preference. There is also the option to incorporate an inlaid custom printed Logomat made possible by COBA Flooring’s rubber bonding process, as chosen by City of Glasgow College.
