Bostik System is First Class for New Bristol University Building
A full system of products from leading manufacturer Bostik has been used throughout a flagship £54 million new building for the University of Bristol. The 13,500 m2 Life Sciences building will provide research and teaching facilities in the heart of the city and is split into three zones, containing a five storey laboratory wing, a central atrium and office wing.
CW Jones is one of the largest flooring contractors in the South West, and was tasked with ensuring flooring work throughout the project met with the high standards expected. This led them to select subfloor preparation and adhesive products from Bostik, including Bostik Screedmaster One Coat Membrane, Bostik Screedmaster Ultimate smoothing compound, Bostik Laybond Carpet Tile Tackifier and Bostik Laybond Pressure Sensitive adhesive.

Bostik Screedmaster Ultimate smoothing compound is ideal for the levelling and smoothing of sound, uneven floors prior to laying decorative floor coverings. It is low odour and high strength, with its formula recently improved to offer an even higher standard of flow characteristics. Bostik Screedmaster One Coat Membrane protects adhesives, floor coverings and smoothing compounds from residual moisture in power floated concrete slab or sand/cement screed.
Bostik Laybond Pressure Sensitive adhesive is a superior performance floor covering adhesive, developed to give high bond strength whilst providing a high level of tack and flexible open time. It is suitable for use with a range of coverings, including PVC/vinyl. Bostik Laybond Carpet Tile Tackifier is a solvent free non-staining polymer dispersion adhesive designed to provide a permanently tacky film when dry.
