Bostik Helps Get New Airbus HQ Off To a Flier
A range of products from leading manufacturer Bostik have been used at the high profile new Airbus Aerospace Park in Bristol. The £70m 12-acre project at the company’s Filton site consolidates 2,500 engineering, design, customer support and other employees into a new office block.
The 23,000m2 flooring project was undertaken by Bristol-based Gollop Contract Flooring, who looked to Bostik to supply products that could be relied upon to deliver quality, backed by a single point of contact for technical and product support. This included Bostik Screedmaster Ultimate, Bostik FA 600, Bostik Screedmaster Universal Primer and Bostik Laybond Carpet Tile Tackifier.
One particular challenge faced by Gollop was how to cover the large number of access panels along corridors that stretched up to 200m in length. Bostik advised that the most efficient way to do this would be to use Bostik FA 600, an elastic levelling compound reinforced with glass fibre designed especially for surfaces such as the metal decking found at Airbus. Given the number of panels that needed covering, using FA 600 helped to save Gollop several weeks of work over alternatives methods.

The project at Airbus was particularly large-scale, so efficiency was the watchword in getting the job completed on time. Having a single point of contact for support – including issues such as the access panels – was important here, as it meant we could be sure products would work together without having to coordinate between different suppliers.

Bostik Laybond Carpet Tile Tackifier is a solvent free non-staining polymer dispersion adhesive designed to provide a permanently tacky film when dry.
