Bostik Has it Covered at Kiddicare Rotherham

Nik Ward, Director, Newards A full system of Bostik subfloor preparation products have been used by Newards Flooring at a new superstore for leading baby specialist Kiddicare.
Acquired by supermarket chain Morrisons in 2011, Kiddicare is opening ten stores across the country which will create over 1000 new jobs.
The 3,700m2 refurbishment project at the Kiddicare Rotherham store required the floor to be re-laid to a high standard, including dealing with drainage channels in the subfloor that was no longer required.
Newards called on Bostik’s technical support team to provide a full specification for the job, with Bostik Screedmaster Deep used to fill the drainage channels instead of concrete. Bostik Screedmaster Deep is a protein-free, high strength self-levelling compound suitable for use up to 50mm deep.
It is ideal for refurbishment work where a tight turnaround is required, as it accepts foot traffic in just 1.5 hours and floor coverings in 3 – 4 hours.
The levelling of the drainage channels allowed the rest of the subfloor to be prepared, starting with Bostik Screedmaster One Coat Membrane, a solvent-free two-part epoxy surface membrane suitable for use with power floated concrete slabs and sand/cement screed up to 97% RH.
This was then primed with Bostik Screedmaster Universal Primer, a water-based solvent-free acrylic dispersion primer ideal for ensuring the best quality performance from smoothing compounds.
From here, Newards used Bostik Screedmaster Smooth to ensure a high-quality smooth finish before laying the decorative coverings.
A protein-free cementitious smoothing compound, Bostik Screedmaster Smooth is suitable for application by both trowel and mortar screw pump.
