The Academy for Excellence in Flooring powered up the Flooring Show as it revealed its new identity and courses tuned to commercial and residential installers alike.
More than just a new name and logo, the changes at the Academy revealed at the show underline the training and development centre’s ambition to become the premier learning facility in the flooring industry, with the Quick-Step Master Installer and Pergo Master Pro Installer badges taking pride of place.
The Pergo Master Pro Installer course focuses on honing the skills of installers working in the commercial sector with Quick-Step Master Installer content aimed squarely at those installing wood, laminate and LVT floors in residential locations.
Both courses provide a suite of benefits, including fully supported workmanship warranties and access to technical advice.

The Pergo Master Pro Installer course focuses on training experienced installers with a minimum two-years’ experience who have good technical knowledge.
The Academy will use this experience as a foundation while sharpening the unique skills and knowledge required to carry out wood and laminate flooring installation in pressured commercial environments.
Topics will include product knowledge and site conditions, as well as interpretation of plans, evaluation of environmental restrictions, standards and legislation, custom installations and replacement of damaged panels.
In short, everything an experienced flooring installer may encounter in a contract environment.
