Itec inspires at ican Dublin

Delivering an injection of modern flair, high-performance contemporary flooring from Itec Contract Floors now graces the premises of the creative agency ican and brings modern architectural style to this artistic office setting.

A total refurbishment project engineered by Dublin-based Arcology Design Ltd, ican explicitly desired a boutique-style look to suit its highly interactive environment.

As Colette van Jaarsveld, director, Arcology, explains, “ican had a specific look in mind. Relocating to a prominent Georgian building located in Dublin 2, an area renowned for advertising and digital agencies, it was imperative that the look and feel of this new space had a trend-led feel in keeping with the fashionable surroundings.

What’s more, while stylish and functional, the open plan office layout required flooring with acoustic properties to help create a calm workplace.”

Canvas Soundlab flooring from Itec proved to be the ideal solution to ican’s needs, offering the winning combination of elegance, comfort and fantastic acoustic benefits.

Covering 360m2, this floor has an impressive 20dB of sound insulation to help minimise the high noise levels usually associated with busy office spaces.

Easy to clean and maintain, Canvas Soundlab features a 0.3mm wear layer and is treated with SuperGuard for greater resilience.

It is able to withstand everyday use and is officially rated as suitable for moderate commercial locations – great for medium-impact offices.

The urban good looks of Canvas Soundlab also lend an air of architectural design to the ican offices, contrasting with but also complementing the Georgian exterior. As Colette continues, “The new offices had no raised access floor, and the existing slab was in poor condition.

Crucially, Canvas Soundlab could be applied with minimal preparation and, now in place, it blends with entire design scheme to give a seamless aesthetic.”

Ican’s new minimalist interior is enhanced by the slightly textured surface structure of Canvas Soundlab which is achieved through Itec’s authentic mechanical embossing system.

The 3.7mm thickness of the floor brings an improved level of underfoot comfort and helps to reduce noice. As Colette finishes, “ican are absolutely delighted with the finished result.

Canvas Soundlab was the best possible option in terms of style, functionality and price and has really delivered the high-impact look that ican were after.”
